What to Expect
Legends and Chronicles of Secret Orders
Prague has been located at the crossroads of the Crusaders' paths for two centuries: is it surprising that the city still preserves many traces of secret monastic societies to this day? These traces will be revealed to you on the narrow streets of Prague, along with stories of medieval knightly orders. We will talk about where and when the first Crusaders came to the city, solve the secret of the name of the Church of the Virgin Mary under the Chains. You will learn who founded the first knightly order in the Czech Republic, where the Templars settled in Prague, and how to free a headless knight. And we will also discuss what the free masons were engaged in, where the Masonic lodges were located, and how modern Knights of Malta live.
Prague Paths of the Crusaders
We will walk through the places that will help you see the city through the eyes of the Masons and the Templars. On the famous Charles Bridge, we will examine the gallery of Catholic saints, each of whom is associated with a mystical story. We will stroll through the Lesser Town and Anenská Square, reveal the secrets hidden behind the facades of the Church of the Janitors and the Church of the Crusaders with a red star. We will explore the hidden alleys of the Old Town and talk about the symbols and legends of Old Town Square and the Powder Tower. Who knows: maybe you will be the one to unravel the secrets of the Prague Crusaders?
