What to Expect
Potala Palace - the Winter Palace of the Dalai Lama
This is the historical, architectural, political, and religious center of Tibet. You will appreciate the exquisite architecture of the rooms, chapels, and covered terraces. See the sacred statue of Avalokiteshvara beloved by Buddhists. Also - the personal monastery of the Dalai Lama, religious school, monks' cell, treasury, and storage rooms.
Ancient Jokhang Monastery
Pilgrims from all corners of Tibet gather here to worship the sacred statue of Shakyamuni, brought to Lhasa in the 10th century. The temple has 14 prayer rooms dedicated to Avalokiteshvara - one of the main manifestations of Buddha, the famous guru Lama Rimpoche, and other important figures in Tibet's history and culture.
Tibetan Medicine Clinic
You will learn about the history of Tibetan medicine, its modern achievements, and wonders. If desired, you can undergo a free diagnosis.
