About this experience
Let's explore the lively and youthful Tel Aviv, walk past its bustling cafes, colorful markets, interesting interiors, and beautiful people - see the city from the inside. We'll find the cheapest falafel at the market, discover local Banksy graffiti, learn why Tel Aviv is the party/vegan/startup capital of the Middle East, and visit places hidden from the eyes of ordinary tourists.
What to Expect
Tel Aviv is a small city, but very bright and emotional. Each of its neighborhoods lives its own life and radiates its own energy. Walking through the city feels like visiting several different worlds.
- D dynamic and multicultural Carmel Market and its surroundings. We will walk down the main street of the central market, I will talk about Yemeni Jews and the Kerem HaTeimanim quarter, why Starbucks failed in Israel, and where to buy good coffee. We will stop at some stalls and definitely try the famous Israeli fast food: falafel, sabich, hummus, or masabacha (your choice).
- Modern, lively, and trendy Rothschild Boulevard. I will talk about the establishment of the state of Israel, the Independence Hall, Bauhaus architecture, and the 'White City' - a UNESCO heritage site. We will try one of the best frozen yogurts and discuss the modern life of the boulevard and Tel Aviv in general - the city's endless parties, which never sleeps, local tolerance, and the lives of various minorities.
- Bohemian and sophisticated Neve Tzedek - a center of boutiques and art studios. We will talk about the history of the city's founding and the first district of Tel Aviv, the Zionists of the late 19th century, and modern immigration: what is 'aliyah' and the 'Law of Return', where Jews come from today, and how repatriates from former USSR countries live in Israel.
- Old Jaffa and its centuries-old history. The program includes the oldest port in the Middle East - Greek mythology, the Ottoman Empire, and Napoleon; the flea market - a crazy mix of antiques and hipster vibes; as well as the culture of southern Tel Aviv: where do the real hipsters hide?
I welcome an individual approach, so the cost of the tour depends on the number of people, and the route is designed based on your preferences, place of residence, and the time of the tour. The main thing to remember: wherever you go, you will feel the spirit of an incredibly independent city - with its complex history, friendly people, and a multitude of happy chances and opportunities at every step. So pack your bags, book a tour, and let's fall in love with the city of freedom, sun, sea, and hummus together!
