Exploring Versailles at a leisurely pace: palace visit and picnic in the garden
About this experience
Arguably the most famous palace-park ensemble in Europe lures travelers with its grandeur and luxury. This architectural masterpiece was the life project of Louis XIV and a monument to an entire era. To truly experience its harmonious magnificence, you will walk through the palace's halls, learn about the events in the state apartments, admire the elegant fountains in the park. And you will daydream about the idea of 'heaven on earth' embodied in Versailles at the Sun King's behest.
What to expect
Magnificent Versailles and its stories
The royal residence - where fateful events unfolded. You will walk through the central alley and through the Golden Gates, visit the Hall of Coronation and the Throne Room, enjoy the view from the Sun King's apartments and unravel the symbolism of the room's architectural design. The legendary Hall of Mirrors will strike you, where time seems to stand still: here you will hear the story of industrial espionage, examine the first French mirrors, and 'stroll through the garden' inside the palace. Versailles will open up to you like a precious jewel, which in the 19th century became a museum intended to demonstrate the might of France.
French picnic
After touching the beauty, we will head to the royal garden of Versailles, where you will relax with a picnic. The menu includes wine, cheese, cherries, and baguette against the backdrop of picturesque surroundings. After the picnic, you can also take a boat ride on the Versailles canal.
