About this experience
You are invited on a trip to the depths of Azerbaijan. You will find yourself in non-touristic places and observe the real life of locals. You will also visit natural and historical landmarks: the ancient mausoleum of Diribaba and the ancient Albanian church, a picturesque beach with black sand, and a cascading waterfall. And this is far from the full list!
What to expect
- Mausoleum of Diribaba from the 15th century. It is both a tomb and a mosque. The architecture of the building is somewhat reminiscent of Petra.
- Ancient ruins of Gabala - the first capital of Azerbaijan.
- Waterfall 'Seven Beauties'. Consists of 7 cascades of different heights, which is how it got its name.
- Lake Nohurgoel. Famous for its beaches with black healing sand.
- Mountain resort Tufandag. In winter, you can ski here, and in summer, take a cable car to the top and enjoy the views.
- Nij - a village in the Gabala district. Known for the ancient Albanian church.
- Gabaland - the 'Azerbaijani Disneyland' with a variety of attractions.
If you wish, we can also visit a winery (for an additional fee).
Along the way, the guide will tell you the history of the Shirvanshahs and introduce you to the homeland of the Shamakhi queen. He will also gladly immerse you in ancient traditions and customs of the Azerbaijani people and answer any questions.
Organizational Details
- We will travel by Kia Carnival or Mercedes Vito depending on the number of participants.
- The price includes everything except the cable car - €10/person and lunch (optional).
- If desired, we can visit the wine production area - €40/person. Tasting - as a gift!
- The excursion starts and ends in the city of Sumgayit.
- I or another guide from our team will conduct the excursion for you.
