What to expect
We will depart from Baku and head northwest. You will appreciate the beauty of the mountain landscapes of the Southern Caucasus. Hear the history of the region from the beginning of early Christianity to the era of the spread of Islam during the Abbasid dynasty conquest period. You will learn about the Silk Road caravans that passed through these lands. Cross the border between Asia and Europe. And learn about the rich cultural heritage that shaped the current appearance of these regions.
- In Shamakhi, you will visit the oldest mosque in the Caucasus after Derbent - Juma Mosque from the 8th century.
- Driving through the scenic Akhsu Pass, you will enjoy the forested areas.
- In the village of Ismailli, we will stop for lunch in a local cafe. On the menu: two kutabs (with herbs and meat), pilaf, assorted kebabs (lamb, chicken), salad (tomatoes, cucumbers), refreshing drinks and tea.
- On the ski resort "Tufandag", you will ascend by cable car and have a panoramic view of the mountain ranges.
