About this experience
North Bali radically differs from the bustling southern coast. It is a realm of wild mountain nature, enchanting lakes, and authentic villages. Let's explore this magical world together! You will visit the Ulun Danu Temple, admire the ancient gates of Handara, and embark on an exciting trek to the 80-meter Sekumpul waterfall. I promise that Bali will reveal itself to you in a new light.
What to Expect
Mountains, waterfalls, lakes, and Balinese Hinduism
I will show you the main attractions of North Bali and talk about the island's inner life: its art, religion, traditions, and culture.
- Ulun Danu Temple — we will explore this ancient active temple, beautifully located on Lake Bratan. Through it, I will divulge the peculiarities of Balinese Hinduism. You will learn what the multi-tiered pagodas symbolize, how they are adorned, why the locals conduct ceremonies, and for whom they make daily offerings. I will also share stories about the goddess Devi Danu — the protector of water elements.
- Handara Gates — you will appreciate the 'split gates,' which have become one of the landmarks of Bali. You will decipher their sacred meaning and enjoy the surrounding mountain panoramas.
- Sekumpul Waterfall — we will visit the highest and most picturesque waterfall in Bali. To see it, a small trek is required. The route varies from level concrete roads to stairs and steps. The path is challenging but interesting: you will have to jump over streams, tackle descents and ascents. Trust me, it is worth it!
