About this experience
I invite you to spend a day in an exceptionally beautiful place that attracts travelers from all over the world. You will walk through mysterious green corridors of age-old laurel and mimosa thickets, discover gorges with mountain streams murmuring at the bottom, and feel the intoxicating smell of mountain air. I will help you not to miss the highlights and reveal all the beauty of the ancient forest!
What to Expect
A Magical Day in the Forest
I will guide you through the most beautiful routes of Laurisilva: to mountain lakes and waterfalls, deep into the relic forest, along scenic gorges and coves. On a sunny day, the sun rays piercing through the tree canopies will create landscapes that awaken the artist in your soul. And if the day is overcast and mist settles at the bottom of the gorges, the surrounding world will turn into a fairy tale – you might think that after the next turn you could meet a friendly gnome!
Intoxicating Scents and Stunning Landscapes
Every step will reveal to you new amazing landscapes: heather-covered gullies, as if covered with green velvet, rocky walls of cliffs, and streams with the purest water, in some places turning into real waterfalls. And Laurisilva is also about incredible scents! Inhaling the mountain-sea air with a hint of healing eucalyptus, you will feel a blissful peace and tranquility.
The Most Interesting Facts About Madeira's Nature
I will not only show you the picturesque trails of Laurisilva, but also tell you about the amazing nature of Madeira. You will learn how vegetation from almost all over the world appeared on a small island, what levadas and veredas are, and what difficulties the island's first explorers faced.
