What to expect
Medieval fortress town
You will walk through the ruins of an Etruscan temple on the eastern edge of the city and admire the breathtaking views of the Umbria expanses with vineyards and olive groves. Next, you will explore one of Orvieto's 'landmarks' - the Renaissance-era well of St. Patrick. Wandering through picturesque alleys, you will immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of a medieval town. I will show you cozy squares, ancient churches, majestic papal palaces, tall towers, and tell you about local traditions, culture, and mentality.
Cathedral
Unnoticeably we will find ourselves in the heart of the city - at the famous Cathedral, which is rightly considered a masterpiece of Italian Gothic. You will admire its magnificent facade adorned with mosaics on a golden background, graceful reliefs resembling stone lace, and a multitude of bronze and marble sculptures. I will reveal the history and legends of the cathedral and help you understand the symbolism of its majestic interior, frescoes, and stained glass windows.
