What to expect
First steps in Cape Town
On the streets of 'Tavern of the Seas' - the nickname of the South African city - you will encounter a multicultural crowd of locals, see Christian churches and Muslim mosques. You will get acquainted with the colonial architecture of Dutch and English quarters, visit the Castle of Good Hope, stroll through the colorful Malay Quarter of Bo-Kaap, and the shady paths of the garden. Along the way, you will learn about the historical stages the city has gone through, what its people are like, the role of precious stones in the country's development, and why, once you visit here, you can fall in love with Cape Town's unique atmosphere for a lifetime.
Seventh Wonder of Nature
If the weather allows, you will ascend Table Mountain by funicular, where you will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the surroundings. Alternatively, I will suggest a wine tasting at the oldest wine farms in the suburbs of Cape Town. You can also visit a diamond factory and a souvenir shop.
A look at the history of South Africa
You will learn about Dutch possessions, the Bushmen tribes, the Cape Coloureds, Zulu wars, the Great Trek of the Boers, the gold and diamond rush, the Anglo-Boer War, apartheid times, Nelson Mandela - and some facts that will allow you to look with interest at the historical events of the African state.
