About this experience
In just 1 day you will discover South Africa, visit the most interesting places, immerse yourself in local culture and history. You will see "ass-like" penguins and sea lions, visit a South African's home, drive on the most beautiful road in the world, and feel like heroes of a movie trying to reach the edge of the world.
What to Expect
- Our journey will start with a visit to the suburb of Cape Town - the port town of Hout Bay. We will observe sailors returning from fishing with blue sharks, huge tunas, and other ocean dwellers, while sea lions mournfully demand their share. We will feed them and then head for a cruise to an island with a colony of Cape fur seals. You will see how they live, hunt, and play.
- Next, we will drive on one of the most beautiful roads in the world - yes, it's in the top 10! We will take photos, stroll, and leisurely ride among rocks with a breathtaking view of the ocean and the endlessly long white Noordhoek beach. Then we will descend to it, search for marine creatures among the coastal rocks, and, if you wish, swim.
- Next, if the tour is on weekends or Fridays, we will go to a place called The Scone Shack. There you will meet a man who lives at the edge of the world. Together with his team, he has created a unique world with tea and desserts that you can try. If the trip is on a weekday, we will head to Scarborough town with the best views and stunning dunes. We will search for mussels and jellyfish there.
- Finally, we will reach Cape of Good Hope - a place where dreamers and travelers from all over the world strive to get to. You will literally be on the edge of the world - at the very southernmost point of Africa!
- On the way back, we will stop to see penguins at the famous Penguin Beach. And, if we are lucky, we will also meet distant relatives of elephants - the rock hyraxes.
During the tour you will learn:
- What legends exist about the Flying Dutchman;
- If the Cape was indeed the last hope for the Portuguese;
- How Cape Town originated;
- Why African penguins are called "ass-like";
- What African penguins and sea lions do;
- The uniqueness of the Cape's nature;
- And much more!
