About this experience
Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are among the main winemaking regions of South Africa. In addition to amazing wines, local estates are perfect for a family getaway. You can enjoy wine tastings or choose a 'non-alcoholic' option and meditate with my guidance. Visit essential oil production, taste fruits from the bush, and enjoy fresh ice cream. And in the midst of wild nature and on farms, observe animals—it's a wonderful harmonizing practice.
What to Expect
Trip to visit wild animals
From your hotel, we'll head to the wild nature center "Giraffe House" with its tallest inhabitants in the world, as well as lemurs, lynxes, zebras, buffalo, ostriches, and turtles. A beautiful place where you can meet representatives of South African fauna and feel a connection with nature.
City of Stellenbosch (passing by)
After Cape Town, this is the second oldest city in the Western Province. It is called white-green because of its unique architecture and numerous oaks. Stellenbosch is the center of the largest winemaking region in South Africa with a university, parks, museums, and authentic streets with restaurants, galleries, and souvenir shops. We'll be passing through here, as our main goal is the wine farm in the mountain valley.
Little South African Switzerland
Stark-Conde Oude Nektar Wine Farm is famous for its premium-class handcrafted cabernet sauvignon wine. It's always pleasant to stroll on the territory, breathe fresh air, and take atmospheric photos. You can participate in a tasting with a local sommelier (I will be the interpreter) or meditate for 20 minutes on the lake shore under my guidance. And after, we'll have lunch at a cozy cafe overlooking the zen garden, mountains, and lake.
Franschhoek
Then we'll drive through another smaller but luxurious wine capital founded by the French. We'll see the symbolic freedom monument to the Huguenots and drive along the central street of the 'elegant valley.' Along the way, you'll observe the local way of life.
Babylonstoren Wine Estate
This is one of the oldest farms in the Cape Colony. Located at the foot of the Simonsberg mountain in the Franschhoek Valley. Here, we'll walk around on 2.5 thousand square meters among vineyards, fruit and vegetable gardens, flower greenhouses, stylish organic installations, a palm garden with a waterfall, cafes, shops, and a restaurant. There is also a SPA complex on the premises.
- You can have a family photoshoot with farm animals and take romantic photos against the backdrop of mountains and flower fields (seasonal).
- If desired, walk through the winery's cellars with a wine tasting.
- Visit the popular garden. You can taste fruits right from the bush and buy what you like in the farm shop.
- Here you can also taste dairy products, including delicious ice cream. There are treats for vegans too.
- In addition, you will visit the production of natural aroma oils and textiles.
In the evening, you will feel full of life, scents, inspired, and grateful to Mother South Africa for her generous, soul-healing gifts.
As a small bonus for those who choose meditation during the journey, there will be a sense of connection with the soul, grounding, relaxation, and perhaps answers to inner questions.
