Delhi's architecture is like a patchwork quilt, uniting traditions and culture of different countries. Throughout its history, the city changed hands — each new colonizer influenced its appearance. We will show you the preserved monuments of the Mughal era and reveal the unique features of Indo-Islamic architecture.
What to Expect
Qutb Minar. You will appreciate this grand monument of medieval architecture. Also, nearby is the mysterious Iron Pillar from the 4th century. Just imagine: it has barely corroded despite standing 1500 years exposed to the elements.
Safdarjung's Tomb. We will show you the marble mausoleum built for the Mughal Prime Minister. You will examine in detail its facade with intricate patterns and stroll through the picturesque garden.
Humayun's Tomb. You will see the tomb of the Mughal emperor Humayun from the 16th century. We will uncover its connection to Timur and Bukhara.
Jama Masjid. Visit the largest mosque in India, whose courtyard can accommodate up to 25,000 worshippers at once.
Red Fort. For almost 200 years, it was the ceremonial and political center of the Mughal Empire. We will reveal its history and architectural features.
