About this experience
You will encounter the shockingly colorful Old City, where life thrives according to the laws of multi-million jungles and medieval exoticism. And in New Delhi, you will get acquainted with modern architecture and delightful temples. I will help you understand the whimsical historical interweaving of both cities and tell you in detail about their main landmarks.
What to Expect
Old Delhi, which used to be New Delhi
In the city's history is still as tangled as in the maze of its streets, in the insane combination of low houses and modern skyscrapers with wide avenues. I will tell you how the sultans built their capitals here, what happened during the reign of the Great Mughal Shah Jahan, how Delhi continued to develop, and what is understood as the designations of the Old and New City.
Maximum impressions of the historical quarter
You will visit Jama Masjid mosque, where I will tell you about the national and religious heritage of the entire Indian people. You will hear the story of the outstanding architectural structure - Red Fort and the era of the Great Mughal Empire. You will visit one of the most colorful places in the East - at Chandni Chowk bazaar, where you can buy everything from a needle to diamonds. And you will learn the legend of Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal and founded the "Street of Moonlight" for his daughter, so that she could acquire anything her heart desired. And if you wish, take a ride through the ancient streets on a cycle rickshaw to better feel the city's atmosphere.
Highlights of New Delhi
Here are concentrated the main administrative buildings and where most of the local elite reside. You will see India Gate, erected in memory of Indian soldiers, and learn the history of the construction of the President's official residence. Near the world's tallest brick minaret, Qutub Minar, I will tell you about the participation of several generations of rulers of the Delhi Sultanate in its construction. You will also visit Lotus Temple - the main temple of the Baha'i religion in India, Humayun's Tomb - the tomb of the Mughal emperor, understand the symbolism of the Hindu Birla Temple, and appreciate the unusual beauty of Akshardham.
