About this experience
I dare to show you one of the most unusual places in Palermo - the burial catacombs under the Capuchin monastery. The atmosphere of the underground cannot be conveyed: dim light, hollow echoes, and eerie silhouettes of embalmed bodies leave a lasting impression. Here lie people from different eras and professions, many of whom chose their final resting place in a niche-grave. I invite you to marvel at the funeral traditions of the past and feel shivers down your spine!

I will tell you how the space of the underground and the system of corridors are organized, how the methods of preserving bodies changed from century to century. You will also learn what posthumous instructions noble people gave to the catacomb keepers.
