About this experience
To relax and enjoy the leisurely pace of Florence, I invite you to take a ride on the Arno - the main water artery. You will see the city from a different perspective. The Arnoboat will smoothly glide along the calm river, and I will tell you about the palaces on both sides, about passionate Florentines, their loved ones, and other stories that fill the Arno.
What to expect
Ancient bridges and atmospheric palaces
Once the river was the city's boundary, and now it divides it into two parts. In some places, the palaces are not separated from the quay shore, and it seems like they are growing directly out of the water. We will start our walk from Piazza Mentana. We will sail under the Old Bridge, the Holy Trinity and della Carraja bridges, and return along the same route, but from the other side of the river.
Legends of past epochs
I will tell you about the buildings on the riverbanks, such as the magnificent Corsini Palace, which houses one of the best private collections of paintings. You will learn about the history of the Capponi Palace. An aristocratic Florentine in love bought it specifically to occasionally see his beloved - the duchess's lady-in-waiting riding down the street with the entourage. We will talk about the churches that we will encounter on our way and the bridges under which we will pass.
By the way, the boat trip sets the stage for a romantic proposal.
