This tour is a great opportunity to combine history, architecture, natural landscapes, and sports in an engaging biking tour. As a result of this engaging biking tour, you will discover the diverse beauty of Stockholm, learn about the history of its islands and landmarks, get acquainted with the city's architecture and art, and among the citizens pedaling around, you will definitely feel like one of them!
Route
- We will start with two central islands of Stockholm, famous for their beautiful panoramic views and numerous landmarks. We will climb to the ancient fortress Kastellholmen, see the famous whimsical sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely at the Museum of Modern Art, ride along the embankment where ancient wooden ships are moored.
- Next, we will head to the Old Town. Passing by the island of Helgeandsholmen, we will move to the island where the Royal Palace is located, make a short stop, and continue along the Skeppsbron embankment past ancient houses.
- Next will be the largest of the Stockholm islands, washed by Lake Mälaren from the west, along which we will ride with the wind to the Western Bridge. This is the longest bridge in Stockholm, almost a kilometer long, offering a fantastic view of the city and surrounding areas.
- Across the Western Bridge, we will move to the Royal Island and along its picturesque embankment, we will reach the City Hall, make a stop to learn about the past and present of this unique building and at the same time admire the beautiful view of Riddarholmen Island.
- Then we will head to the Norrmalm or City district and from the modern business part of the city, we will move to the eastern district of Östermalm, see the Royal Dramatic Theatre and ride along the picturesque Strandvägen embankment to the island of Djurgården and cycle along the trails of the royal park and along the waterside to the summer Royal Palace Rosendal.
Organizational Details
- Our biking tour will be at a moderate pace. The route can be adjusted according to your wishes. Tell me about your interests, and we can tailor the route accordingly.
- Bike rental is not included in the biking tour price and is paid separately. The most budget-friendly option is to use rented bikes (10 euros per tour), or a slightly more expensive option would be to rent a bike at specialized rental points (30 euros per day)..
