About this experience
Outdoor recreation and sports are an integral part of Viennese life. A bike ride will show you places to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city and engage in active leisure. It will add a pleasant variety to the cultural program of visiting the Austrian capital.
Program
The goal of this bike ride is to leisurely pedal, breathe fresh air, and enjoy the movement.
We will start our route on the Danube Island, where the urban environment harmoniously blends with the natural world. Along the way, we will cross several picturesque bridges over the Danube, and then climb to the peak called Leopoldsberg (Saint Leopold's Hill). After a 20-minute uphill walk, we can admire the breathtaking view of the Danube and Vienna from the terrace of the church of the same name.
In the warm season, after the tour, you can stay on the Danube Island to swim in the pristine water of the New Danube, so it is recommended to bring your swimwear in advance.
As the predominant part of the route runs on roads without car traffic, the bike ride is perfect for children or those who are still not confident on a bicycle.
