You will see all the iconic points of the city and learn about how Napoleon entered through which gates, how Bergamo is connected to St. Petersburg, in which restaurant of the city celebrities dine, and other interesting facts. So, the program includes:
- Porta Nuova - the main ceremonial entrance to the Lower Town, always noisy and bustling with life. You will see two magnificent neoclassical buildings and a wonderful view of the hills of Upper Bergamo.
- Colleoni Street - by funicular we will go up to the Upper Town and walk along its central medieval artery.
- Old Square - I will tell you why this has been a place of concentration of political power in Bergamo for centuries. Today, locals love to meet and spend their free time here.
- Duomo and Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore - you will be amazed by the grandeur and beauty of these ancient Catholic churches.
- Colleoni Chapel - you will see a grand building in the early Lombard Renaissance style with a luxuriously decorated facade of multi-colored inlaid marble.
