About this experience
The places we will visit are not as "postcard-like" as Commerce Square and other popular locations. Here, immigrants from former colonies live, and you can feel the atmosphere of authentic Lisbon. I will show you the soul of the city without the tourist gloss, where you can meet locals, hear the sounds of fado from windows, and need to hug the wall for a passing car. We will talk about the colonial era and discuss how ordinary Lisbon residents lived and live.
What to Expect
You will learn how the Portuguese managed to conquer half of the world and lose everything in one day. You will walk the path of explorers and try to unravel the mystery of why these places have always attracted the attention of majestic empires. We will reflect on where those Portuguese who set off into the unknown ocean in search of adventures have disappeared to.
In the streets of the ancient quarters and cozy courtyards, you will touch the lives of ordinary Portuguese and see where the locals hang out. You will imagine what Lisbon looked like during the Age of Discovery and examine the traces of past battles preserved on the walls of buildings.
Welcome to the real Lisbon without typical restaurants and souvenir shops - as it was before the arrival of tourism and as it remains to this day!
