What to Expect
Tasty art breakfast and a bit of theory
Immerse yourself in the depths of history and the secrets of azulejos on an empty stomach is not an option. To begin with, we will go to a cozy cafe in the heart of Alfama - a neighborhood that was practically unaffected by the earthquake and has preserved unique examples of traditional Portuguese tiles. There, I will tell you about the development of azulejo art and how the tile looked at the beginning of its existence.
Old district, flea market, and lots of beautiful art
After a hearty breakfast, armed with theoretical knowledge, we will stroll through narrow medieval streets, find unique samples of azulejos, and definitely visit the best viewpoints in Alfama. And then we will drop by the most famous flea market in Portugal. There you will be able to buy authentic samples of tiles from the 17th-20th centuries.

During the walk, we will have to climb a few steep slopes and go down a couple of stairs. It is better to wear comfortable shoes.
