About this experience
Arabel is a special place not only in Kyrgyzstan, but in the whole world. At an altitude of 3891 meters, there is a tundra valley surrounded by mountain peaks. The climate here is unique - even in summer, the temperature does not rise above +8 degrees Celsius. There is almost no vegetation, but there are rivers and over 50 lakes around. You will see a remarkable creation of nature and collect a collection of pristine landscapes on your way from Bishkek.
What to expect
A road rich in picturesque views
The valley is located on the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, deep in the Jeti-Oguz gorge. The road to the valley is not close, but it is filled with impressive panoramas.
The journey from Bishkek to the plateau will take 6-7 hours. Along the route, you will see endless fields stretching to the Tien Shan mountain range, the peaks of the mountains of Kazakhstan, the magnificent Boom Gorge, and of course, the pearl of Kyrgyzstan - Lake Issyk-Kul and its southern shore with pristine nature. We will make stops to stretch out and capture stunning views.
Arabel Plateau
We will drive to the main attraction on a mountainous serpentine road. The road is safe, as the Kumtor gold mine is located on the plateau, so it was built to withstand heavy machinery traffic in any season.
We will spend about an hour in the valley. During this time, you can take a short hike or have a small picnic with mountain tea and pastries prepared for you. Upon request and in case of good weather, we will arrange a photo or video shoot with a drone for you.
