About this experience
If you, like me, love unusual things with a history, if you are attracted to ancient tales and Italian traditions, this trip is for you! It is on the markets and flea markets in the suburbs of Florence where you will feel the national color of Tuscany, get to know the local way of life, and of course find charming vintage curiosities that have been waiting just for you. You will not only see this bright and fascinating spectacle from the inside, but also, together with the native Italians, become a full participant in it.
What to expect
Treasure Hunt at Antique Markets
The unique atmosphere of the antique markets in Italian suburbs cannot be described in words - it is a real show with a mix of eras! The main city square turns into a huge stage, with a continuous line of stalls with amazing items serving as decorations, and the actors are the nicest, friendly sellers who willingly engage in dialogue with the visitors. In the labyrinths of colorful market rows, I will be your guide, consultant, and translator: I will help you find desired items, whether it's dishes, paintings, or vintage accessories, negotiate for a purchase, point out interesting curiosities, and make you feel like a true Italian. And if the tour takes place on weekdays when the markets are closed, we will visit antique shops and private stores that are open every day: the assortment here is not as vast, but trust me, you will find many interesting and pleasant discoveries for every taste and budget!
The Charm of Florence Suburbs
Depending on the chosen route and travel date, we will head to one of the small towns near Florence. We can go to the famous market in the charming medieval town of Arezzo, walk through beautiful squares and see the house where Francesco Petrarca was born. Or we can visit the cozy town of Terranuova-Bracciolini, or on the 4th Sunday of the month stop by the antique market in the picturesque town of Montevarchi, where after vintage shopping, you can have lunch at my family restaurant with Tuscan delicacies. Each of these towns is filled with traditions, curious stories, and gastronomic specialties, which I will definitely tell you about during the trip.
