About this experience
Let's go on a bike tour of North Amsterdam - an area that many have heard of, but few really know anything about! In North Amsterdam, fantastic projects and innovations are hidden around every corner. You will see a mini-village with offices, cafes, and gardens, observe houses printed on a 3D printer, explore entire streets tucked away in shipyard hangars. And you will also learn about the value of a potato skin and how apartments in a silo tower have become a trendy housing format.
What to Expect
Modern urban marvels
In North Amsterdam, we will explore fantastic innovative projects hidden in every corner of the northern part of the city. You will see a mini-village with offices, cafes, and gardens living in full energy self-sufficiency, and, of course, learn how it all works. Encounter houses printed on a 3D printer, ride through entire streets hidden in shipyard hangars, and understand how apartments arranged in a silo tower managed to save a serious urban project and become a trendy housing format. We will see magnificent examples of modern architecture, and even visit some of them. Find out what it's like to live in maritime containers, lift cranes, and other amazing places. We will talk about how the city populates former industrial areas, green energy, drifting skyscrapers for fish, birds, and mussels.
As a dessert, we'll tell you how a Soviet submarine ended up in the bay and where you can find real pirates in Amsterdam. And, of course, we will find time to have a snack in a very unusual place and take a swing over the abyss. We've hidden many more amazing things up our sleeve so as not to scare you at once :)
