Individual bike tour in Amsterdam: falling in love with the city in three hours
About this experience
Bike and Amsterdam are two inseparable concepts! I invite you to ride on a two-wheeled horse through the cozy and beautiful city, where everything is made for cyclists. You will enjoy the breeze along the banks of the Amstel River, romantic canals and bridges, cute gingerbread houses, modern architecture, and a magnificent bird's eye view panorama. I will tell you the history of Amsterdam and interesting details of the locals' daily life in an accessible and engaging way, show you both famous and hidden city spots, help you take great photos, and share a good mood.
What to expect
Amsterdam through the centuries
Bike tour starts at the main Dam Square, from where we will head to the quietest area in the old city. Personally, I fell in love with Amsterdam only after discovering its serene quarters, parks, and less crowded alleys hidden from the usual tourist. I will gladly show you these places and not only tell you about the city's history and main attractions but also about the everyday life of the capital's residents, their customs and traditions. You will learn about the peculiarities of the old city's architecture, possibly peek into a hidden courtyard, and take a picture at the most beautiful canal. Then you will ride to the port area of Amsterdam and appreciate the modern urban architecture.
Immerse in the extraordinary city atmosphere
You will ride along the IJ canal to the central station, see the largest bike parks in the city, and find out why the Dutch love bicycles so much and for what reason the main Catholic Cathedral of St. Nicholas was built only in the XIX century. Finally, the most romantic part of the program - you will admire the magnificent panorama of Amsterdam from one of the city's rooftops. With the 'sky ride', you will pass by the windmill, a symbol of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where tasty beer is brewed nowadays. Then, you will cross the famous 'Skinny Bridge' to the other bank of the Amstel. After taking some pictures on the river and the most romantic canal, you will visit Rembrandt Square, where young people like to spend their evenings, and the flower market, where you can try the most delicious attraction - herring. The tour will end at a cozy café near the central square, where I will answer any remaining questions and help with further plans for your stay in the most beautiful city in Europe.
