About this experience
Not every traveler knows that Belgrade is a city with a stunning concentration of independent creative projects. Get ready to discover this facet of the Serbian capital: we will walk through urban art spaces from design districts and squats to vibrant murals. You will immerse yourself in the creative spirit of Belgrade and understand why it is called 'Berlin on the Balkans'.
What to expect
Belgrade: creative, colorful, underground
Our route runs through the central part of Belgrade, past former abandoned buildings that are now rented out to young designers, artists, musicians, and start-uppers. These spaces are shaping the new face of the city and forging Belgrade's modern culture.
- We will walk through the Savamala district, which was long a Belgrade 'ghetto' and has now become a magnet for creative youth
- We will visit the first independent cultural center KC Grad in Belgrade, observe the murals, and discuss their history
- We will step into galleries of contemporary art
- We will pass through a hidden design district with shops and showrooms of young Serbian brands tucked away in courtyards
- And we will finish the route in a vibrant and unusual bar district inside a former brewery.
Engaging and lively about Serbia and Serbs
During the walk, you will not only touch the creative life of Belgrade but also gather useful tips for exploring the city on your own. We will talk about the everyday life in Belgrade and our personal experience of living in Serbia, about the customs of Serbs and their differences from Russians. And of course, we will share insider information about the city that you won't find in open sources.
