About this experience
The Academy Gallery houses over 800 paintings by Venetian masters, including works by Titian, Veronese, and others. I studied in Venice to be an architect, and many restorers of these paintings were my professors. During the tour, I will talk about the peculiarities of some works and Venetian painting in general. I will immerse you in the epochs of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo.
What to Expect
- You will see the magnificent museum building, designed by the architect Andrea Palladio in the style of late Venetian Renaissance
- Get acquainted with the specific techniques of Venetian school painting
- Learn about the creative heritage of individual artists
- I will show you how to "read" and understand paintings correctly - explore composition, use of color, light, and symbolism
- We will examine famous paintings in the museum: Bellini's "Triptych of San Lorenzo", Titian's "Presentation of the Virgin Mary in the Temple" and "Pietà", Tintoretto's "Rescue of the Body of Saint Mark", Giorgione's "The Tempest", and others
- We will discuss how differently works can be interpreted. For example, in Giorgione's "The Tempest", some see a biblical story of Mary and Joseph seeking refuge in Egypt, while others see it as a metaphor for the human condition and the ephemeral nature of life
For guests with children, I offer special children's routes and tasks.
Organizational Details
- Guided tour services are included in the price
- Entrance tickets to the museum are paid separately - €15/adult, free for children under 18 years old
