About this experience
This is not a boring art history lecture, but a journey into beauty. You will hear a story about the Uffizi Gallery, spiced with interesting stories and details - and conversations! You will not just see the museum's masterpieces - we will discuss the key ones, as I am very interested in hearing your opinion.
What to Expect
The Uffizi Gallery is one of the greatest museums in the world, which houses masterpieces by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Botticelli, Titian, Caravaggio, and other Italian masters who worked from the Middle Ages to the Modern era.
The route is designed to see how Italian art changed and evolved:
- I will tell you about the history of the gallery building and the Medici family, for whom it was built
- We will try to decipher all the symbols hidden in Botticelli's famous painting 'Primavera'. Who are all these characters? What do the orange trees in the background mean?
- We will examine the works of Leonardo da Vinci in detail
- Are you ready for Caravaggio's shocking realism? We will see his 'Medusa', painted on a convex shield, creating a stunning three-dimensional effect
- We will closely examine Titian's 'Venus of Urbino', where sensuality merges with domestic comfort. What messages about the role of women in Renaissance society does this painting convey?
This is just a small part of what you will see and learn during the tour. I assure you - it will not be boring, even if you are not a lover or connoisseur of art.
Organizational Details
Tickets to the gallery are not included in the tour price (price ranges from 16 to 29 euros, depending on the season). You will need to independently reserve them in advance - I will explain how to do it.
