About this experience
2000 years of Paris biography cannot fit into 2 hours - together we will immediately discover the most interesting pages. We will explore the Île de la Cité, the cradle of the city; we will stroll along the Seine; admire the Louvre, the Conciergerie and Notre-Dame Cathedral. I will bring to life images of the royal capital, talk about the character of the medieval and modern Parisian, and help you find the locals' favorite coffee spot.
What to Expect
Paris Path and Walls that Remember
Who Paris owes its greatness and splendor to? How did it develop? To understand this, we will go through the stages of the city's formation - from the settlement on the Île de la Cité in the times of the Gallo-Romans to the magnificence of the 19th century. Along the way, I will reveal the secrets that monuments keep: the Conciergerie, the Palace of Justice, the Châtelet theater, the New Bridge (which is actually the oldest), the Institut de France, the Louvre, the Bridges of the Arts and Change.
Special attention will be given to two Gothic "stone symphonies" - the Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris and the Sainte-Chapelle chapel. We will talk about architectural details and important events that took place here, as well as explore how the Templars are connected to the curse of the French kings.
The City's Life Yesterday and Today
My tours are not long historical lectures, but friendly dialogues. Enthusiastically and understandably, I will tell you not only about the chronicles of Paris but also about how it lived and lives. You will "see" images of the medieval city. You will hear what concerns modern Parisians, and, if possible, taste their favorite coffee and dessert. And we will also visit the oldest flower market in Paris. The walk will end at the Louvre. From here, it is convenient to reach other attractions and famous shops.
