About this experience
‘Two Brothers’ have long been a symbol of Rio: it's so beautiful here that the place often appears in Brazilian TV shows. Our path leads to the very top of the mountain - at an altitude of 533m. We will partially ascend on a mototaxi, and the remaining part will be conquered on foot. The reward will be views of Tijuca National Park, favelas, the Ipanema district, and much more. And I will be your guide, sharing intriguing stories along the way.
What to Expect
Dois Irmãos Mountain, or ‘Two Brothers’, rises above the city and reaches a height of 533m. We will make our way to the very top (first by mototaxi, then on foot), from where breathtaking panoramic views will unfold. Along the way, there will be many lookout points. You will see:
- Vidigal and Rocinha favelas
- A large part of Rio's southern zone and the Tijuca National Park: Pedra da Gávea, Pedra Bonita, São Conrado, Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, the botanical garden, Botafogo
- And also the Christ the Redeemer statue on the horizon and the Sugarloaf Mountain
On the way back, we will visit Leblon viewpoint, where you will appreciate the height from which we descended. And also enjoy a view of the beautiful neighborhoods of Leblon and Ipanema.
You will learn
- Why it's not advisable to climb the mountain in rainy weather
- What is installed at the center of the summit
- Which municipal park the mountain is a part of and what goal it pursues
- What historical significance the mountain holds and why it attracts not only thousands of foreign tourists but also locals
Who This Tour Is For
Travelers with any level of physical fitness - I will adjust to your pace. But I do not recommend it for people with heart problems because, firstly, it is still an ascent, and secondly, the climatic conditions here are such that it is humid, slightly stuffy, and if there is strong shade, the temperature is around +35.
