About this experience
Costa Mountain is the hallmark of the neighboring town of Niteroi near Rio. Together, we will reach it by public transport and head to the top of the ancient monolith. The climb is easy and takes no more than half an hour. As a reward for our efforts, we will get luxurious views of Rio and the Atlantic Ocean. And then we will relax on the clean, peaceful, and very picturesque Itaipu beach.
What to expect
Niteroi is a town near Rio, located on the other side of Guanabara Bay. We will go there by public transport, the one-way journey to the starting point of the route will take about 1.5 hours. Costa Mountain, which we will conquer, is not just a natural massif. It is also a centuries-old history of the local indigenous people. You will discover why the word 'Costa' is difficult to pronounce even for Brazilians, what it means, and which peoples lived here. You will admire the 210-meter high panorama of Rio and the Atlantic Ocean. After the descent, you will relax on the beautiful non-touristy Itaipu beach.
