Angkor is one of the most impressive medieval monumental complexes in the world. We will show you its main temples, tell you about the features of their architecture, and decipher the meanings embedded by the ingenious Cambodian artists. And we will do everything possible to avoid tourist crowds and enjoy Angkor in silence.
What to expect
Angkor through the centuries
You will see all the iconic places of Angkor. The excursion program includes:
- Angkor Wat - one of the most famous cult religious structures in Southeast Asia. You will be impressed by the grandeur of the temple, the perfect clarity and increasing rhythm of its composition, strict proportionality of all details, expressiveness of architectural elements, and intriguing narrative reliefs.
- Ta Prohm - a famous temple with giant 'walking' trees. We will tell you why this place is filled with the romance of the era of explorers and which famous movies were filmed here.
- Ancient city of Angkor Thom - the last capital of Angkor. You will hear its history and see ancient temples, pools, elephant terraces, and the leper king.
- Bayon - the central temple of Angkor Thom. We call it the 'quintessence of chaos', as it has no stylistic resemblance in world architecture. You will learn about the philosophical concepts of its era that have survived to this day and the meanings attributed to its details.
- Ta Keo - a giant mountain temple reaching for the heavens. Huge stone blocks and massive steps, which we will climb 40 meters up, will allow you to feel the full power of Mount Meru, the earthly embodiment of which is considered the temple.
Organizational details
- Optionally, for an additional fee, you can add a sunrise or sunset meeting at Angkor - $22. To meet the sunrise, you need to depart at 04:45.
- The excursion is conducted by car or minibus. Transportation is included in the price.
- Entrance tickets are paid separately at the ticket office - $37 per person, free for children under 12 years old.
- Optionally, we can stop for lunch. Meals are paid separately.
- There are many temples on the territory of Angkor Wat. During the excursion, we will visit the main ones to get the most complete impression within the limited time.
- For an additional fee, you can start the tour at the airport. Fast-track at the airport - $10/person. Check the details in the correspondence with the guide.
