What to expect
In Cambodia, an incredible stone world hides among centuries-old trees. Modern blockbusters are filmed in ancient ruins, hundreds of floating houses are nestled in a secluded sanctuary, and lively trade is taking place. Every corner here is imbued with extraordinary energy that will make your head spin.
Over two days, you will learn about the history, lifestyle, and culture of the Cambodian people, as well as visit the most mystical places. Among them are the world-famous temple complex Angkor Wat and the amazing Ta Prohm where the Lara Croft movie was filmed. You will taste local cuisine, try the most delicious coffee, the secret recipe of which the Khmers keep closely guarded. Optionally, you can visit Tonle Sap Lake—the largest in Asia—and observe life on the water.
Itinerary
Day 1
06:30-07:20 Pick up from hotels in Pattaya. Document check and briefing on crossing the border by our Russian-speaking guide.
09:00 Breakfast stop (pre-order a lunchbox at the hotel or buy on site)
11:30 Crossing the border through the VIP corridor accompanied by our Russian-speaking guide
12:00 Departure to Siem Reap on a tourist bus with a Russian-speaking guide. Sightseeing tour along the way
13:30 Lunch at a Khmer restaurant (local and European cuisine)
15:00 Check-in at a 4* hotel (with a pool and WiFi). Relax at the hotel until 17:30 or visit Tonle Sap Lake, take a boat ride, and explore the stilt houses (extra $20, cash payment on site)
18:30 Visit a coffee factory
19:00 Dinner at a Khmer national restaurant (buffet). Apsara National Folk Show.
21:00 Return to the hotel; free time or evening stroll around the city
Day 2
05:30 Wake up, breakfast at the hotel
06:00 Visit the temple complex of Angkor:
— Main temple complex Angkor Wat
— Angkor Thom (ancient capital)
— Bayon, Elephant Terrace, and Leper King Terrace
— Ta Prohm (filming location of the Lara Croft movie)
— Ta Keo
— Banteay Srei (Hindu temple) or Royal Bath of Sras Srang (if time permits, both locations will be visited)
13:50 Return to the hotel and check out
14:00 Visit the genocide memorial monument
14:30 Visit the Royal Park, where you can observe flying foxes
15:00 Lunch at a restaurant with national cuisine
16:00 Departure to the border
18:30 Cross the border back to Thailand
22:00 Arrival at the hotel in Pattaya
