About this experience
We will take a journey to one of the oldest districts of Rome - the unique Trastevere, whose residents proudly call themselves 'true Romans'. Here you will feel the true spirit of the Eternal City, learn about Roman habits, traditions, and festivals. You will inhale the aromas of local cuisine and jasmine flowers, listen to street musicians, and see the homes of ordinary Romans framing architectural masterpieces.
What to Expect
Stroll through the most beautiful corners of Trastevere
Our route will pass through the streets of the most authentic district of the Eternal City. Amidst the simple, slightly provincial atmosphere of Trastevere, you will learn about the battles of the Garibaldians, the love of Raphael, and the peculiarities of local dishes. I will tell you about typical Roman gestures, folk traditions, holidays and superstitions, recipes for eternal love, the Roman way to get lucky in gambling, and many other interesting details that are exclusively Roman and characteristic of its inhabitants.
The most beautiful Roman panoramas
From the Janiculum Hill, you will enjoy a magnificent view of the entire old city with its tiled roofs, domes, and lush tree crowns. Here, the fountain of Paola plays with water jets and impresses with the harmony of Bramante's great Tempietto rotunda. If you go for a walk in the morning, you can admire the frescoes of Raphael, the beautiful decoration of the temples of Santa Maria in Trastevere and Santa Cecilia, as well as see the rare medieval frescoes of Pietro Cavallini. You will walk through winding streets, examining the tops of bell towers or dark rough arches framed by simple houses, and also encounter the tiny Tiber Island with ancient bridges along the way.
The charm of the evening city
If we go for a walk in the evening, we will find ourselves among carefree crowds: at this time, the streets of Trastevere are filled with locals and tourists, songs of street musicians, fires in small squares on the sidewalks, and in spring - the scent of jasmine flowers. And of course, in Trastevere, you will find many souvenir shops, typical taverns, osterias, and cafes where you can taste the most delicious dishes of local cuisine.
