About this experience
One of the most unique temple complexes of the island awaits you, rarely visited by travelers, an excursion into the history of religion development in Bali and watching woodcarvers at work. Also included in our program is bathing in a wonderful waterfall, tasting Luwak coffee right on the plantation, and lunch at the foot of Mount Batur.
What to Expect
Traditional Woodcarving
Our first stop is the village of carvers in Kemenuh. Here you will get acquainted with the art of artistic wood processing. Local masters create wonders and produce true masterpieces. During the tour, you will see the carving process, learn about the tree species used by carvers and for what purposes, and of course, admire finished works. You will also visit the house and art gallery of one of the island's most famous artists, Mr. Ida Bagus Mark. You will see works, some of which are valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars today.
Mount Batur and Civet Coffee
From the village of Kemenuh, we will head north to Mount Batur. On the way, we will make a short stop at coffee plantations to taste the famous and traditional Balinese Luwak coffee. You will learn about the origin of this perhaps the most unique and expensive coffee in the world, and the tasting will help you decide if you are a fan of this exquisite drink or if you prefer classic coffee.
Ulu Danu Batur Temple Complex
In the depths of one of the largest calderas in Indonesia, a relatively young volcano, half a million years old, Mount Batur, formed. One of the main attractions of this place is the complex of 9 temples Ulu Danu Batur—one of the least known and least visited but perhaps the most unusual and vibrant. In a peaceful atmosphere, you will learn a lot of interesting facts about the profound philosophy of Balinese temple architecture, their history, and also gain superficial knowledge about the religion of Bali. The atmosphere here creates a suitable environment for meditation—I will tell and show you how Balinese priests do it, and you can try meditating yourself.
Hidden and Little-Known Places
After the temple, one of the most picturesque and unknown to the general public places in Bali awaits us, a waterfall with crystal clear, transparent as a tear water, which you can even drink. It is incredibly beautiful and quiet here. You can bathe in the cool water, which, according to the Balinese belief, neutralizes negative energy and rejuvenates the body.
