About this experience
To explore Prague in two days, you need to know exactly where to go. I will help you navigate: my First Day program is dedicated to what's down below - Old Town, New Town, and the Jewish Quarter. And on the second day, we will focus on the hills: you will enjoy the panorama from Vysehrad, see the small Eiffel Tower on Petrshin, and the main attractions of Hradcany.
What to expect
Hill walk
- We will meet at Vysehrad metro station and head to the former royal citadel, where we will admire the city from a height and climb inside the fortress walls to discover original sculptures from Charles Bridge.
- We will wander through the cemetery of Czech celebrities, peek into the church painted by Alphonse Mucha's students, and walk around Devil's pinch. Descending to the waterfront, we can feed the swans and have lunch on a boat.
- Next on the program is Petrshin Hill, where a funicular will take us. You will stroll through the apple orchard, see the observatory, and a free copy of the Eiffel Tower. Nearby is the Strahov Monastery, and beyond it is the most picturesque and cozy part of Hradcany: the areas of Pohorelec and New World.
- I usually try to avoid Prague Castle because of the crowds of tourists and long queues at the entrance, but if you wish, we can also go there.
Prague Chronicles
I will tell you who ruled Prague and in what order, why kings moved the residence from one bank to another. You will learn about fortresses, whether thick walls were beneficial, and why sculptures are kept underground. You will hear Czech myths and try to guess what could be true; see where the alchemists lived and where the locals prefer to have picnics.
