About this experience
Who are the Nagas, why Kathmandu is their valley, and how does this reflect on the life of Nepalese people? You will find the answers to these and other questions at our meeting. Experience Nepal from a historical, cultural, and spiritual perspective. Visit several temples, practice for luck, see a living goddess, and stroll through a colorful bazaar with mysterious artifacts.
What to Expect
Swayambhunath - Monkey Temple
You will climb 365 steps to the ancient stupa of Swayambhu - the stupa of longevity. I will tell you about the Kathmandu Valley and the Nepalese cosmology. You will make offerings and practices for long life and luck, and also observe the monkeys living here.
Durbar Square and the Living Goddess
At Durbar Square, you will explore the oldest temple - Kasthamandap - and other ancient buildings. You will enter the Kumari Palace to see the living goddess.
Vibrant Asan Bazaar
In the bustling market of Asan, the most significant temples of the valley of mythical Nagas are hidden. You will discover artifacts from the realm of mysterious beings.
Boudha - the Birthplace of Tantric Buddhism
I will explain why without the Boudha stupa, tantric Buddhism would not have reached us. It is believed that the stupa grants wishes - do not forget to make yours.
Pashupatinath - Lamas and Aarti Ceremony
This is a large temple complex and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the riverbank, residents perform rituals bidding farewell to the deceased, and Tibetan lamas practice selfless giving of their bodies for the benefit of all living beings. You will also witness a religious fire offering - Aarti.
