About this experience
What if I told you that the Spanish Inquisition was the most harmless in Europe? The whitest and fluffiest of all? That it is not guilty of a fraction of the evil deeds and crimes attributed to it? Intrigued? Join us in the heart of Barcelona - the Gothic Quarter - for arguments and evidence. Let's seek the truth together!
What to expect
From early childhood, we live surrounded by various legends, beliefs, and ideological constructs. Which of them is true? Which, to put it mildly, is not very accurate? And what is pure fiction or carefully veiled lie?
Topics we will cover:
- The true story of the infamous Inquisition, whose stakes allegedly burned relentlessly throughout Spain
- Were all beauties accused of witchcraft and sent to burn?
- Why do vivid fabrications firmly reside in our minds at times
You will learn:
- What interested the inquisitors much more than witches
- How much truth is in the descriptions of the horrible tortures of heretics attributed to the Spanish Inquisition
- Is the number of its victims corresponding to reality?
- Is it true that due to the Inquisition, Spain ran out of beautiful women?
- And overall - where did all these bloody tales of the Spanish Inquisition come from
The conversation setting will be the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. We couldn't find a better place for a walk through the dark Middle Ages!
