I invite you to a sightseeing car-pedestrian tour of Baku, during which you will visit monumental, historical, and architectural landmarks of the city in its modern and medieval parts, learn about the history of Azerbaijan and Baku, including events of 1918 (first independence), the 1990s, World War II, and others, as well as hear stories about famous residents.
What to expect
Welcome to sunny Baku! On the sightseeing car-pedestrian tour, you will enjoy the beauty of our city and explore its main attractions. The program includes:
- Government House - we will drive past this architectural heritage of Baku;
- Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center (external tour) - one of Zaha Hadid's most successful projects, which was recognized as the best building in the world in 2014;
- Flame Towers - the iconic symbol of modern Baku;
- Highland Park - we will see the coastal city from its highest point;
- White City, formerly known as the Black City;
- Bibi-Heybat Mosque from the 13th century - I will introduce you to the complex and its deep history. This is a significant monument of Islamic architecture that you definitely need to see;
- The world's first oil well. Did you know that it was in Baku in 1846 that the world's first oil well was drilled mechanically?;
- Green Bazaar - caviar, fruits, sweets, and, of course, Azerbaijani tea at the most colorful bazaar in the capital.
