About this experience
Hospitable Baku is beautiful at any time of the day: during the day when the city streets are bathed in hot sunlight, and in the evening when all the buildings sparkle and shimmer with millions of colorful lights. At any time, I will take you around the city center, show you the brightest attractions of modern Baku, tell you their history, and help you immerse yourself in the atmosphere and bustling life of the city.
What to Expect
- The observation deck in the Highland Park is the highest point of the city of Baku. Here you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of the city and take some excellent shots. The main attractions of modern Baku are well visible from the deck: the tallest flagpole in the world, the historical center - Old City-Fortress (Icheri Sheher), as well as the Philharmonic building, the Baku Crystal Hall famous among fans of Eurovision-2011, the seaside Boulevard Park stretching for 10 kilometers along the Baku bay. The wide promenade zone of the boulevard is filled with greenery among flowerbeds and fountains, and at the southern end of the promenade, you will see several operating oil pumps and the world's first oil well built in 1846.
- Next, we will drive through the city center along the "Formula-1" route, where you can observe interesting buildings and structures in Baku: the city's architecture, the parachute tower of the 1930s, the "Little Venice" complex with canals and gondolas, the famous Baku funicular, the International Center of Mugham (Azerbaijani traditional music), and the carpet museum.
- At the end of the tour, we will pay attention to the modern Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, designed in 2007 by Zaha Hadid, a renowned female architect.
