What to expect

Traveling to Sheki
The road to Sheki is not close - 3-4 hours - but I will not let you get bored. On the way, I will briefly acquaint you with the past and present life of Azerbaijan, tell you about the places we will be passing by. If you wish, we will make stops for tea - my treat. And, of course, the entire route will be accompanied by the beautiful landscapes of this country.

From ancient stones to elegant glass
In Sheki, you will enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this city and also admire its historical heritage. The main attraction is the charming Palace of the Sheki Khans, adorned with Venetian glass. I will explain how two floors were built without a single nail - and with which goods Sheki conquered the Italians. In the Khan's House, you will examine the frescoes and decipher what their symbols refer to.
After that, we will visit the ancient caravanserai, preserving the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. You will learn where the chandelier-gift of the Pope came from. And then we will head to the village of Kish, where you can observe the rural life of Azerbaijanis. I will show you the ancient Albanian church, built in the 1st century, and talk about the religious diversity of our country.

Sheki-style lunch
Azerbaijani cuisine deserves a separate conversation - and Sheki dishes, as each region is famous for its recipes. In the restaurant where Gagarin allegedly had lunch before his flight, you will try Sheki pitu - the meat simply melts in your mouth! And we will also visit the local House of Sweets and, of course, enjoy Sheki baklava, which is drastically different from Baku's in terms of composition and preparation method. With a full stomach, I will continue my story about the gastronomic culture of the region.
