About this experience
To fall in love with the Impressionist artists and discover the secret of their fantastic success, you simply must visit the Orsay Museum. You will learn and see how this art movement was born and how it influenced the emergence of avant-garde and all modern art.
Program
We will trace the path from the origins of Impressionism to its peak. You will see how the style of 'modern' was born and how it influenced fashion and interior design. You will learn many facts about the lives of Impressionist artists (such as the secret of Auguste Renoir's 'quivering' brushstroke or the horizontality of his late canvases, or the serial nature of Claude Monet's paintings), about the sources of their inspiration (the people surrounding them, the women who captivated them, and the cities that attracted them), about their personalities, lifestyles, and know-how that they planted in the fertile artistic soil of Paris.
From the birth of Impressionism, the center of the world's painting will forever shift to Paris. You will see the works of great masters such as Gustave Courbet, Jean-François Millet, Édouard Manet, thanks to whom this innovative movement was formed and the masterpieces of outstanding artists such as Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, Gustave Caillebotte were born. And then we will visit the Post-Impressionists section and talk about the works of Vincent Van Gogh, Georges-Pierre Seurat, Paul Gauguin.
And if there is still energy left, I will introduce you to the stunningly beautiful furniture of the Art Nouveau style and the school of arts and crafts.
