Scandalous masterpieces
A few words about the museum building, beloved by the locals, and you will be transported to the 19th century, to the times of raging passions. Historically, the Orsay museum has many paintings and sculptures that have sparked heated debates among critics and viewers. From this "scandalous" perspective, you will look at the giant painting by Courbet "The Burial at Ornans" and his candid "The Origin of the World", Manet's work "Luncheon on the Grass", Renoir's "Bal du moulin de la Galette" and Rodin's sculpture "The Age of Bronze", which brought the author fame at the age of 37.

At the Orsay Museum, you will get acquainted with the features of four directions in painting and learn about the revolutionary nature of the canvases of their representatives. Walking through the halls with works of art from the mid-19th century to the 1930s of the 20th century, you will see paintings by impressionists Manet, Renoir, Monet, Cezanne, Pissarro and post-impressionists Gauguin, Van Gogh, Seurat. In addition, you will study the paintings of representatives of the Barbizon school, realistic and symbolist movements - Courbet and Puvis de Chavannes - and examine the sculptural composition "The Gates of Hell", over which the great Rodin worked all his life.
