Join us for a walk with a guide-photographer to famous spots near Almaty. You'll see the incredible Charyn Canyon, with impressive scale, and Kolsai Lake nestled in a valley among mountains and coniferous forests. Discover the history of these places and receive vivid photos as souvenirs of your trip.
What to Expect
- Stroll through Charyn Canyon amidst stone columns soaring over 150 meters high
- Take a non-touristic route through the 'time arch' and enjoy the coolness of Charyn River
- Learn the history of this canyon – the largest in Central Asia. Find out why it's advisable not to speak loudly after sunset and stay overnight
- In the valley among the mountains, you'll find the amazing Kolsai Lake, recharge with its serenity, and learn why a mine was built here, now abandoned
- And of course, you will take home colorful shots captured on professional photographic equipment
Route Timing
06:30–07:00 – group gathering and departure from Almaty
10:00–13:00 – walk and photo session in Charyn Canyon
13:30–14:30 – lunch
15:00–17:00 – walk and photo session at Kolsai Lake
18:00–21:00 – return to Almaty
Timing is approximate and may vary depending on group's physical condition, punctuality, road conditions, and other unforeseen circumstances.
Organizational Details
- Price includes transfer in a Mitsubishi Delica, services of a professional guide-photographer, drinking water, first aid kit
- After the excursion, within 7 days, you will receive 10 retouched photos and all edited material
- Additional costs include eco fees – 3000 tenge/person and lunch – optional
- We can arrange a photo session on horses, boats, or catamarans. Price for a photo session on boats or catamarans – 5000 tenge/person, on horses – 6000 tenge/person
- You will be accompanied by me or another guide-photographer from our team
