About this experience
This interactive tour will introduce children to the history of Paris. We will discuss the medieval times and the castles of the kings, decrypt messages on the facades of Notre Dame together, uncover interesting legends and mysteries that pervade many houses and streets of Paris. As a result, the past of the French capital will come to life before the children's eyes like a fairy tale come to life from the pages, a story they won't want to part with.
What to expect
An engaging walk format - we will play, complete tasks, and use our imagination!
During the tour, children will actively participate: they will draw towers of the main cathedral, decipher messages on its facade, and learn the meaning of the lines on the square in front of it. They will also find the very first castle of the French kings, learn how Anna of Kiev became the queen of France and what she taught the French. They will discover the first clocks and why they had only one hand. Whom the first large square of Paris was built in honor of. What the medieval houses were like and what the first shops looked like.
Step by step through the Cité and Latin Quarter
The highlights of our route will be the most interesting objects of these Parisian districts. Children will see the smallest street and the oldest bridge, the first clocks and the oldest tree. They will learn what the largest square in Paris was in the Middle Ages and what heritage we have left from the Roman Empire. I will explain why life in the city slowed down at nightfall and how medieval Parisians lived. Why the first crutches were invented and what the symbols on the houses meant.
