About this experience
After sunset, Bangkok undergoes an incredible transformation: neon signs light up, numerous bars and street food stalls open. To see all of this, you need to know where to go! I will take you to the most vibrant night districts of the Thai capital and help you understand their contradictory character.
What to Expect
Legendary Patpong
At Patpong street, you will visit a vibrant interactive museum where shocking facts are gathered. You will learn how the history of the modest industrial district of Bangkok is closely intertwined with the secret history of the American war, thanks to famous American and world politicians, businessmen, military, artists, and criminal authorities.
Discover where David Bowie visited, how the century-old history of the red-light district unfolded, and how the Go-Go bars of Southeast Asia are arranged.
We will then stroll through Chinatown, which turns into an open-air food court in the evenings. We will admire the majestic panorama of the historic city center - Rattanakosin Island - in elegant neon lighting, soak up the lively atmosphere on the main street of Chinatown - Yaowarat, and optionally taste local food and drinks.
The Colorful Night City
After a ride on a tuk-tuk, we will find ourselves on Khao San Road, and then on Soi Cowboy. You will see numerous bars, neon lights, and people looking for entertainment. Additionally, I will show you the glowing three-story complex Nana Plaza - another crucial pillar of the night city - the largest playground for adults (as it is officially called here). I will tell you about the past and present of these places and how Bangkok's life has changed over centuries after dark.
Organizational Details
- We will move between districts using public transport: metro and tuk-tuks. Tickets (including for the guide) are paid separately - around 400 baht per person
