About this experience
A trip to non-touristic places of the city will help you see Vietnam from the inside and feel its true spirit. You will drive through real residential neighborhoods of Nha Trang, have lunch in a local cafe, see temples and pagodas in remote, almost lost places, and view the city from several panoramic angles.
What to expect
Unusual bridges and non-touristic neighborhoods
On the river Kai promenade, you will see the living conditions of Vietnamese people, learn about some peculiarities of the local population's life, nuances of construction in Vietnam, and the purpose of the huge lamps on fishing boats. After that, we will head to the bridge connecting the city to the island, and along the way, you will hear stories about the differences between various river islands and see real narrow Vietnamese alleys. The program includes another remarkable bridge that showcases the resourcefulness of local residents – from it, you will see the river from a new perspective. And near another bridge, made of wood, we will talk about the tireless character and hard work of the Vietnamese, who regularly reconstruct it by themselves after the rainy season.
Reclining Buddha and the tallest Buddha
In addition to the history of the reclining Buddha statue, you will enjoy a magnificent view of Nha Trang, the Kai River, islands, and will be able to see from a height the places you have just visited, as well as shipyards where fishing boats are built. Moreover, during the tour, you will see the tallest Buddha statue in the country, which is rarely visited by travelers due to its remoteness from the city. However, a visit here is definitely worth it, not only because of the grandeur of the construction but also for the wonderful pagoda, staircase with beautiful dragons, a view of rice fields, and distant Nha Trang.
Temples and pagodas
On the way to the Hai An Tu temple, you will learn about the purpose of the prayer house standing on a miniature island, see the towers of the Goddess Ponagar, and learn about her role in Buddhist mythology. The path to the Lok To pagoda will immerse you in the real life of Vietnamese neighborhoods "without embellishments." And the Sui Do structure, located far from the city noise, literally lost in the realm of rice fields, will be a beautiful conclusion to your immersion in the non-touristic world of Nha Trang. Built on a mountain, where during tropical rains a spring turns into a turbulent stream, the pagoda produces a fantastically soothing impression and allows you to feel the soul of true Vietnam.
