What to Expect
Oslo - Stories and Legends
You will wander through the ancient center of Oslo and hear about local myths, architecture, and unusual national traditions. In addition, you will see all the major attractions of the Norwegian capital:
- Akershus Fortress - built in the 13th century, it has been rebuilt several times. I will reveal the secrets hidden behind the mighty impregnable walls and whether it is truly the oldest structure in the country.
- Kvadraturen - you will explore the unusual, linearly divided district of the 17th century, which was built according to the plan of the Danish-Norwegian King Christian IV.
- City Hall - I will tell you why the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded here annually.
- National Theater - you will hear about the complex fate of the country's main drama theater.
- Royal Palace - one of the residences of Norwegian kings and a bright example of neoclassical style.
- Main University Building - you will learn which faculty was honored to be located within its walls.
- Parliament - one of the most beautiful buildings in Oslo, built in 1866 by the Swedish architect Langlet.
