About this experience
The Prado Museum houses so many art masterpieces on a relatively small area that it can only be compared to the Uffizi Gallery. Each canvas here is a reflection of an era and the artist's mastery. You will see works by Titian, Tintoretto, Rubens, Bosch, Durer, learn how Velazquez signed his paintings, where the characters of his famous 'Menin' paintings are looking, and who is actually their main hero.
What to Expect
In the Footsteps of Goya
During a leisurely stroll through the museum, you will get acquainted with the canvases of the greatest Spanish artist - Francisco Goya. You will understand why he was summoned by the Holy Inquisition, who the naked maja really was, and why the artist painted her clothed copy. And his series of 'dark paintings' will reveal the dark sides of the master's most difficult period in life. Mad nightmares, fantastic images, or terrifying self-portraits - I will help you understand their meanings. You will see a unique masterpiece by Bosch - 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' and decipher the hidden symbols, find the original signature of the author, his self-portrait, and even the famous symbol of the capital - the bear with the strawberry tree.
Mores and Appearance of Great Spaniards
Antique paintings are also a treasure trove of invaluable information about the era, fashion, way of life, and even the health of each generation. I will reveal to you the secrets of portrait symbolism: you will easily learn to determine the status of the grandee depicted before you, find out how and why the famous Spanish ruffled collar - gorgiera was invented, and hear about the destinies of the rarest family jewels of the Spanish Crown.
