About this experience
Island fortress with a millennium history - Normandy's most popular attraction. We offer you to feel its atmosphere. We have planned the entire trip for you - we will pick you up from the hotel, take you to a calvados tasting from a local producer, show you the famous island and abbey, tell you about the history, wars they survived, and the life of the monks.
What to expect
07:30 - departure from Paris to the distillery. On the way, the guide will talk about the French way of life, the education system, restaurants and cuisine.
10:15–11:15 - tasting of calvados, cider, and liquor from a local producer. You will learn the secrets of making these drinks. Children will be offered natural apple juice.
13:00–17:00 - arrival at Mont-Saint-Michel and visit to the Benedictine abbey
- You will hear about the history of the island and the abbey, the life of medieval Benedictine monks, the Hundred Years' War, Joan of Arc, the restoration of the monastery during the reign of Napoleon III, World War II, as well as about Normandy and its attractions
- At the top of the island, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean and the bay
- In your free time after visiting the abbey, you can walk around the town and, if you wish, have lunch
17:00–21:30 - return to Paris to your hotel
Organizational details
- The cost of the tour includes transfer, guide services, entrance tickets, and tasting
- The trip will be on a Mercedes E220 if there are 2-3 people, or on a Mercedes minivan if there are 3-7 people. There are child car seats available.
